This client needed to rev up the curb appeal of this cute split rancher before she put it up for rent. The yard was flat with dead grass and 3 random hydrangea plants.

So…we suggested that they invest in a ‘no-maintenance-great-to-look-at’ triad of Virginia thin stone stonewalls.  These walls give the property a clean, New England woodsy look.

The solomon seal, hellebores, fern, sarcacocca are inexpensive perennials that we planted. These plants are drought tolerant and multiply even when neglected.  The 3 French lace cap hydrangeas made it through the last 6 years in their current spot, so I guess they are tough too!

The lawn area is defined between the walls and makes mowing speedy and easy. The new tenant will have no excuse for a messy lawn and garden, we hope!
