You didn’t see it…. now you do!

When the owner and I chose these stone colors we did not realize the startling effect it would have on so many layers of the hardscape.

From her large family room windows, she looks down at the granite fountain encircled with lilac colored brick and the sunshine circle of variegated lilac stone from Pennsylvania.  The unique color is picked up in the stripe on the seat wall, and then to a meandering walkway through the woods.  Each line leads to and plays with the other.

From the practical standpoint, we moved the play set farther back and angled to the terrace, and made the terrace entrances large enough for running grandchildren to get around any lingering humans, birds or animals who may be at the fountain.

Her inventory of lovely white encore azaleas, hostas and ferns filled up a lot of garden space.

Next week we add more plants with a light touch. It was music to my ears when the owner said, “I give up! It is so beautiful!  Do what you want and have fun!”

How could I not!
