Help Save our Environment

Oddly enough, now is the time to plant a perennial wildflower garden. Perennials like to go dormant with the winter freeze and wake up when the temperatures warm in the spring.

This is what we did on our meadow to help our birds and bees. We also deliberately reduced our lawn mowing needs. It takes our guys a long time to mow our 2 acres!

Here is the process

• Mow the lawn
• Mark the new beds with white paint
• Rototill the new area
• Mix the fine seed with sand
• Throw seed on site with an even hand
• Roll the seeds into the soil

Here’s the bouquet of flowers we have gotten from our wildflowers in the past few years. They will self-seed each year. You may have to replenish them over time but basically they are on their own!
